THE ACT
OF
MAKING
"DESIGN CREATES VALUE"
Whereas design approach to each project is original as no two brief and context are the same, the values in all our works are guided by three timeless principles of design - “Firmitas, Utilitas, Venustas” coined by Roman Architect, Marcus Vitruvius Pollio.

The three words translate from Latin as Firmness, Commodity and Delight, have become the cornerstone in all our “Act of Making”.

FIRMNESS - A design should be well-made and has a structure. Like a chair, the parts of a chair—seats, arms, legs etc.— must be made of the right material and properly fitted together or it will not wear well and age gracefully.
COMMODITY - A design should function well for its intended purpose. Not only must a chair be strong and fit together well, it needs to function as a seat. It needs to be comfortable to sit in, with the seat and back at the right height and angle.
DELIGHT - A design should delights the soul and evokes human emotions. Vitruvius emphasized beauty as a necessity along with strength and function. A chair, besides being strong and useful, it must be appealing. “Attracting” you to use it!
It is our skills and talent in crafting spaces that relates to the human physics and emotions with firmness, commodity and delight that we keep creating successful places for our clients and users.
